BETA: Connecting GE Healthcare B450 and B650 monitors (this pertains to Version 2 only)

There are no settings to change on the monitor, you simply need the exact correct monitor connection setup.


DO NOT use the "ePort" serial port on the back, you must use the USB port on the back of the monitor.

The monitor expects a USB cable that has specific product ID and vendor ID, so you cannot simply get another cable that fits. Version 2 has to have one of two supported product ID and vendor ID combinations:


The only place we've found so far, that sells cables with this discontinued chipset is from this MediCollector site.

NOTE: there are identical looking cables from the same manufacturers that WILL NOT work because they have a newer product ID.

You'll also need null-modem adapter (comes with the kit or easily obtained via Amazon) and a generic USB to serial adapter also available via Amazon (for example this one).

The final setup looks like this:

Once you have the right connection to your monitor, simply select "GE" from inside Xchart when you go to connect.
