One little shortcut is to tap the drug that you want to enter a dose for in the graph up above the boxes showing the drugs:
If you tap on the drug name that will jump you to the correct drug and focus the input on the dose input field.
If you tap somewhere specific on the timeline for that drug, it will give you the option to enter a dose at that particular time:
